Objectives and Missions:

Population Association of Iran (PAI) founded in 10 July 2002 as a non-profit, scientific, and professional association. The main objective of association is to promote and strengthen the discipline of demography through quantitative and qualitative extension of skilled manpower as well as the improvement of demographic training and inquiry. In order to achieve this objective, the main missions of the association are:

  • The configuration and consolidation of collaborative research and scientific relationships at both national and international levels
  • Evaluating and monitoring research projects and training programs
  • To encourage researchers and the glorification of eminent scholars
  • To deliver training and research services
  • To organize scientific conferences at the national, regional and international levels
  • To publish scientific textbooks and journals
Membership of the Association is open to any person or organization with an interest in population-related issues or involved in population studies. PAI currently has 287 individual members comprising interested scholars of demography, social sciences, public health, as well as interested individuals from other relevant fields such as Statistics, Mathematics, Geography, Economics and etc.
